An everyday preference may have a small adjustment already available. A book could come closer, a lamp could point elsewhere, or an unused object could move out of the way. You can consider the possibility without needing to try it.
Choose only an adjustment that is comfortable and safe for you. The choice can include leaving the setting alone. Noticing a preference does not automatically make changing it the next task.
One question
What available adjustment would I like to consider or decline?
One small practice
Name an ordinary comfort preference in a familiar setting. On paper, describe an adjustment already available that would be comfortable and safe for you. If nothing fits, write that plainly.
Finish: "An adjustment I am free to consider or decline is ____." You can stop at the note. No purchase, physical challenge, or change to the setting is required.
Use paper or a private note. Nothing needs to be submitted.

Questions people ask
Do I have to try the adjustment after naming it?
No. Considering or declining the adjustment is part of the choice. The practice can stay on paper, especially when leaving the setting as it is suits you. There is no required result to demonstrate afterward.
What if no comfortable adjustment is available?
You can write that there is no available adjustment you want to consider. The note does not require you to invent a solution, purchase anything, or attempt a change. Your description of the limit can remain the whole answer.
