Explore the note before a next step

Consider a private note about an exchange without preparing a difficult conversation.

Week 3A · 5 of 8 · 2 min read

You can be curious about a private note without treating it as preparation for a conversation. Perhaps you want to see whether "clarity" fits what you hoped for, or whether another word describes the moment more accurately.

The exploration can happen entirely on paper. You do not need another person to confirm the note, agree with it, or respond. Choose a manageable example and leave any decision about the relationship outside this small exercise.

One question

What would I like to understand about my own description of this exchange?

One small practice

Read a short note about a manageable interaction, or write a factual example now. Choose a word you used for what mattered. Privately consider whether it fits or whether you would describe it differently.

Finish: "What I am curious about in my description is ____." You can stop there. No script, conversation, or confirmation from anyone else is needed.

Use paper or a private note. Nothing needs to be submitted.

Questions people ask

Is this exercise preparing me for a confrontation?

The practice does not require or prepare a confrontation. It asks about your own written description of a manageable moment. You can complete it privately without contacting anyone or deciding whether to discuss the exchange.

What if I would use a different word now?

You can add the current word without correcting the earlier note. Your description can become more specific or remain uncertain. Neither version needs another person's agreement for you to record what seems to fit today.
