A smaller version can be an option

Consider a lighter version of an optional task without redesigning your routine.

Week 3A · 5 of 8 · 2 min read

You can explore a smaller version of a task without deciding to change your routine. A short note might be enough where you imagined a long explanation. A usable arrangement might be enough without another round of polishing.

Choose an example where the extra is truly optional. This is a chance to consider a version, rather than a rule about always doing less. Your circumstances decide whether it is appropriate.

One question

What smaller version of an optional task would I be willing to consider?

One small practice

On paper, name a low-stakes task and the optional extra attached to it. Describe a smaller version that still meets the actual need. Keep care, safety, and existing responsibilities outside the reduction.

Write: "A smaller version I could consider is ____." You can stop with the option. No change to a routine or commitment to use the smaller version is required.

Use paper or a private note. Nothing needs to be submitted.

Questions people ask

Does smaller mean careless or unfinished?

The note asks for a version that still meets the actual need. If removing a part would neglect a responsibility, choose a different example. You are considering an optional extra, rather than deciding that care no longer matters.

Can I decide that I prefer the original version?

Yes. Considering another version does not commit you to it. You can notice that the extra is something you want to keep in this setting. There is no required conclusion about doing less for the practice to be complete.
