Free written reflections · Talents

Notice what you bring.

Begin with any reflection that speaks to you. Each one is complete on its own; there is nothing to catch up on.

The complete written Talents practice from the proposed open-meeting script. No event attendance is required.

Choose a recent, ordinary moment that feels manageable to think about. It does not need to be the best or hardest moment of your week.

Perhaps something became a little clearer, easier, more welcoming, or more organized. You can also choose a small moment you enjoyed on your own.

Write one sentence about what happened.

Now look for your own action in that sentence. Describe it with a verb, rather than a rating. You might write, "I explained the next step," "I noticed the missing detail," or "I made time to listen."

Pause and let the description stand. There is no need to add "but anyone could have done that."

Our reflection question is: what do I notice about this ability when I am not immediately turning it into another responsibility?

Finish one private line: "One ability I am willing to recognize is ____."

You can stop here. You have completed the practice. Recognizing the action does not require a new goal, a purchase, or sharing the note with anyone.

There is no required feeling at the end of this exercise. Keep whichever observation is true for you.
