Week 4A · 7 of 10 · 2 min read
An hour may feel absorbing, ordinary, or less appealing than you expected. None of those observations has to answer whether you are living well. You were trying a direction, rather than taking a test of your value.
You can notice a quality you care about even when the experiment produces nothing. Curiosity, care, or patience can belong in your description without needing to become an achievement or a claim about your whole life.
One question
What matters to me here even if this experiment produces nothing?
One small practice
Look at the direction you considered, whether or not you gave it an hour. Name a quality you wanted room for, such as curiosity or care. Stay with a word that fits your own example.
Write: "What matters to me beyond the result is ____." There is no need to defend the word or report improvement. You can stop with this description of what you value.
Use paper or a private note. Nothing needs to be submitted.
Your note stays in this browser.

Questions people ask
What if I did not try the hour?
You can use the direction you considered and name what interested you about it. The practice does not require a completed experiment. You are describing a quality you value, rather than proving it through a record of activity.
Does noticing indifference mean I chose badly?
Indifference can remain an observation about that particular version and setting. You do not need to turn it into a judgment about your worth or your choices. This page leaves room to value curiosity even when an experiment is unremarkable.
